Attention Parents,
Spring is hopping in quite quickly and our Spring Celebration will be here, before you know it. Please comment some ways you think would be a good way to celebrate. I am open to Easter or Spring ideas. I look forward to collaborating with you.
I think a day of playing Easter games and other activities would be fun! They could begin by playing BINGO with Easter themed cards. The winner wins a golden egg. They could then make bunny hats. Students could then go outside for some fresh air and have relays. An egg-on-spoon and bunny hop relays would match the theme. Afterwards, the students could go back into the classroom to rest and paint Easter eggs.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing such great ideas! We will definitely be able to squeeze in some time for relays. Do you think we should use real eggs to paint? I am trying to figure out a way to incorporate an art project into our day.
DeleteI think our children would love learning how to care for a garden. Since spring is around the corner, the class could start a garden. Learning how to plant flowers and care for them teaches responsibility. At the same time, the students are learning the ecosystem.
ReplyDeleteI have wanted to start a garden for years! What types of plants do you think would work best? Which flowers grow easiest and require little care? I love how this idea incorporates multiple themes.
DeleteRadishes are among the easiest vegetables to grow. A small patch of native wildflowers could be simple to plant and the children could take cuttings to their loved ones later in the growing season.
DeleteI think it would be fun and educational to teach children about the butterfly life cycle this spring. Butterfly kits with live caterpillars can be easily ordered over the internet, and they are fun projects for children of all ages. Students can see the caterpillar's transition, as it grows and changes into a chrysalis, and finally emerges as a spectacular butterfly. It only takes about 3 weeks for this process to take place.
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike! I have my caterpillars on order as I am typing. Thanks for reminding me of all the concepts incorporated into this project.
DeleteI really believe the children would love a "Spring Scavenger Hunt" where they would go outside and look for various objects dealing with Spring. You and the students could first create a list of things found during Spring time such as flowers, birds, bugs, etc. and give each student a magnifying glass to look through. I think this would be a fun and engaging learning activity for the children.
